We will release Replikant Chat on Steam early access. We also will release an updated version of Replikant Editor that will include Replikant Chat and editing abilities to create chatbots, but at a later date.

Even if other companies were to develop 3D chatbots with multimedia capabilities, which are currently not present in the market, it would be unlikely they could provide an advanced runtime editor like Replikant's. This gives Replikant a distinctive advantage in the industry.

FAQ

How does this announcement affect the Replikant editor?

  • The AI chat integration in Replikant means a considerably large number of new features not currently present in Replikant. Its functionality and ability for users to create content will be expanded significantly. Users will not only be able to create real-time chatbots but also convert them to timelines, edit them further, and do much more. This is pointed out in the blog. Beyond that, there will be new characters, environments, etc. But the release of Chat standalone will come first.


How are the audience participating in this? Are there responses captured somewhere?

  • We will start to release videos showing interaction. Users can follow the conversation with the chatbot listening and answering the user, showing animations, images, and audio in its interactions. Users can choose to see the text transcription of the conversation as an option.

What are the triggers for multimedia? How flexible are they? Can they be customized?

  • The chatbots vary a lot in design. Their multimedia abilities depend on how much they help in their design. While some chatbots can accept more direct controls from users, many will trigger multimedia themselves. For example, they could show images to help with narratives, explanations, or quizzes. Some chatbots allow users more control over these requests. Chatbots also have the ability to create AI images, use WIKI images, database images, or images that the user places in a specific folder. The chatbot will use them according to their labels. The same applies to texts that you can store and the chatbot can access. Communications with chatbots are always by voice, but you can type if you wish.

Is the app going to be a part of the Epic game platform or stand alone?

  • Replikant Chat will be on Steam for now.
  • Replikant Editor will be on Epic for now.

Once we have created something, how is it delivered? Where is it hosted?

  • Replikant Chat is a chat application only. You can record your interactions with external tools. We need a reduced, simple tool to use, to maximize the AI taking control of the interface for easy use. For example, if you want to learn a language with Replikant Chat, you don't need or necessarily want to create a character.
  • Replikant Editor will include Replikant Chat, giving editability. Please refer to the section above for more information.

Character development is AI; however, where is the data stored? In the cloud?

  • You cannot develop chatbots in Replikant Chat. It's a player-only application designed for easy use. You will be able to in future versions of Replikant Editor. Replikant Editor stores the data locally, while Replikant Chat will store it in the cloud. Users can also add their own text and images to the chatbot.

Can a Replikant Editor create their own environments? Are these environments just images, or actual 3D entities? Are these environments customizable? How big is the library?

  • When talking about Replikant Editor, as it is currently available, we can already judge the libraries. We will release new expansions.

Is the scene creation based on AI? If I tell it what I want, will it create that?

  • Not currently.

Where is the data stored for the character? How does the character further develop? Will the audience or player have any control over the interaction?

  • For Replikant Chat, data will be stored in Steam storage. Note that details could change.
  • Characters have memory and will react to your interactions. They will evolve according to how you treat them, but only in the companion or sitcom scenarios. The educational ones will be more constant regardless of your interactions.

When does Replikant Editor leave Beta?

  • No specific release date yet.

What is the price of Chat going to be?

  • We will make an announcement about that. 

Will early adopters of Editor be on the list to test the app first before it is released?

  • There won’t be a general rule. We will eventually call for testers, but this will be rather confidential until an open beta or general release.

Will the pricing model for the current version of Replikant change?

  • Initially, no. If you're asking about when Replikant Chat is integrated with Replikant Editor , we will announce pricing and subscription options eventually. Replikant Editor with chat integration not as a substitute to standalone Replikant Chat but as a complement. Note that this integration won't be released simultaneously with Replikant Chat, but later.
